Who did it better?
Gonna have to go with Iron & Wine on this one. Samuel Beam delivers one of the most outside-the-box reinterpretations I know of, taking The Postal Service’s popping electro sounds and coming back with a whispery folk lullaby. Reminds me of this original/cover pair.

Notorious BIG verses are mashed up pretty much everywhere you look, making it hard for any one of them to stand out. Still, this one caught my attention. Keomany had the bright idea to throw some Bonobo, the chill-out king, underneath Biggie’s words, making the late rapper sound dreamier than ever. Lie back and enjoy:
