I’ve recently gained an appreciation for Cee Lo Green. That is, it took me a while to get beyond the whole “Fuck You” thing. I guess I like that song as much as the next person, but its hype kind of kills his actual musicianship- something I’m starting to figure might be way underrated. It’s not surprising that he was first exposed to music through gospel- his music has a really authentic-but-not-too-overwhelming sense of soul that enhances the already solid foundation of his tracks.
This song, sent to me by a friend, is from 2010’s The Lady Killer. Quel find!
