While many will agree that a significant amount of the most highly anticipated musical acts in pop culture and all of its sub-genres are currently coming out of the UK, we have one of our own premiering her debut album in the UK three days before it drops in the United States. Lana Del Rey, AKA Lizzy Grant, is a NYC-based singer/songwriter who is making waves in the blogosphere as well as with her self-edited, Pogo-esque music videos. She is self-described as the “Gansta Nancy Sinatra,” and while she wears Nancy’s boots she gracefully struts through an overtly romantic dreamscape of sound. Regardless of my personal wishes to covet the album immediately, a round of applause to the lamenting songstress goes out with devotion on the early 2012 premiere.
